Our MLB betting expert is here to offer up his best Reds vs. Cubs 2022 Field of Dreams game predictions, starting at 7:15 PM ET in Dyersville, Iowa on FOX.
As the Cubs and Reds prepare for tonight’s Field of Dreams game, Munaf Manji of The Action Network is here to share his best bet (video above).
The Reds will send Nick Lodolo to the mound Thursday night while Chicago will counter with another left-hander, Drew Smyly.
For Manji, he believes that both pitchers are worth fading and that both offenses will have their way.
2022 Field of Dreams game prediction and pick
Both pitchers have struggled away from home this season, an element that largely informs Manji’s handicap of this game.
“Lodolo has struggled this season on the road, where he is 0-2 and that ERA nearly doubles to 8.49,” Manji explains.
Plus, in Lodolo’s three road starts this season, two have seen at least 10 combined runs. On the flip-side, Smyly brings an ERA of 3.97 into tonight’s matchup. However, that figure balloons up to 4.50 when you only consider his road starts.

Additionally, Smyly has struggled this season when pitching in night games. In those starts, he’s 1-5 with a 5.35 ERA. Smyly also has experience pitching against the Reds this season. Although he won said start, the game still featured double-digit runs.
Add in that both bullpens are struggling — the Reds bring the league’s worst bullpen in terms of team ERA — and Manji is recommending that bettors back over 9 runs for tonight’s contest.
