NFL betting lines: Cowboys win total

The Cowboys are a team that has been saying “Super Bowl or bust” for seemingly two decades, but all they’ve done is bust. For all the hype of the Dak Prescott era, Prescott has led the Cowboys to only one playoff win in his tenure at starting quarterback.
The Cowboys have the benefit of playing in the NFC East, and matchups with the Giants and Commanders should provide them with opportunities to stack up some wins. The Eagles, however, are much improved with the addition of A.J. Brown at wide receiver and have the tools to give the Cowboys a run for their money.
Dak Prescott warms up before a preseason game. Getty ImagesDallas has matchups with the Buccaneers, Rams, Bengals, Colts, and Titans on their list, which will be tough games for them to win. On the flip side of the equation, they have games with the Jaguars, Texans, and Bears, which should absolutely be victories for the Cowboys.
With losses to the offensive line and their receiving corps, the Cowboys will be trusting Prescott to do more with less, which is a dangerous recipe. I’ll back the under on their win total.

Ezekiel Elliott rushing yards O/U 830.5 (Caesars)
Assuming Elliott stays healthy, there’s essentially zero chance that he doesn’t top this number. Last year’s 237 carries was a career low, but he still proved to be one of the stronger running backs in the NFL, averaging 4.2 yards per carry and racking up over 1,000 rushing yards for the fourth time in six seasons.

Getty ImagesThe emergence of Tony Pollard is something to consider, and it has to be assumed that this is one of the reasons that the line on Elliott is 149 rushing yards lower than any season he has had in the NFL. Even if you figure that Pollard is good for 150 carries this year, you’re still banking on Elliott being entirely inefficient or missing time for him to not top his number.
Elliott dealt with numerous injuries last season and still churned out over 1,000 rushing yards. With the departure of Cooper, the Cowboys will be leaning heavily on their running backs.
