After winning the Sun Belt regular-season title last year, it has been tough sledding for the Louisiana Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns recently. After going 9-4 in non-conference play, the team is 4-6 to begin play in the Sun Belt with the blame going to its defense.

Over their past three games, the Ragin’ Cajuns have allowed the second-most points per possession of any Division I team. This team has not played a game in which the total was below 167 since Jan. 5 and has not held a team to fewer than 81 points in that stretch.

The Cajuns now face a Georgia State team that has scored at least 75 points in four of its past five games. The team shoots 38.9 percent from 3-point range and has five guys on the roster who average at least 10 points per game.

These two teams clashed Jan. 10 and Louisiana Lafayette was incapable of stopping the Panthers as they got an 89-76 victory. Georgia State is shooting less than 65 percent at the free-throw line as a team and is 323rd in the country in that respect, making the side a bit dicey if the game is close.

What has not been a roll of the dice recently is to take Louisiana Lafayette games over as each of its past seven games have gone over.
