MLB bettors can choose from a full 15-game slate on Friday, but we’ve zoned in on one specific matchup for our Top Play. It’s the Oakland Athletics against the Chicago White Sox in the Windy City. Both teams are deploying relatively weak pitchers, which gives a touch of value to the total.
Behind Lance Lynn at home, the White Sox have played a lot of high-scoring games. All four of the right-hander’s starts at Guaranteed Rate Field have seen at least eight runs, while three of four have surpassed this total. In those games, Lynn is allowing an on-base percentage of .292 and an OPS of .678, both below-average.

James Kaprielian has proven anything but reliable for the Athletics. He has a 4.87 road ERA to pair with a .316 on-base percentage and .713 OPS.

In his eight road games, the A’s have seen all but two feature at least eight runs, while three of the last five have cleared this benchmark. Lastly, four straight White Sox home games have cleared this total heading into Thursday, a trend we expect to continue.
