Superstar running back Christian McCaffrey has scored a touchdown in 16 straight games, and if you bet it every week, you’d be rich.
Starting with $100, if you bet on the 49ers’ prized in-season acquisition in 2022 and continued rolling over your winnings each week, you’d be up $480,991.48.
But if you had been rolling over McCaffrey’s anytime touchdown scorer prop each week, it might be about time to call it quits.
His odds haven’t been plus-money in weeks, getting as high as -320 to score a touchdown when San Francisco smashed the Giants on “Thursday Night Football.”
He would go on to score just one that day but made fools of the Cardinals the following week when he dropped four touchdowns and 177 total yards from scrimmage.
During McCaffrey’s consecutive scoring streak, he has scored 22 touchdowns, with 11 of them coming in just seven weeks this season.
McCaffrey recently moved past former Bills running back O.J. Simpson, who had the third-longest touchdown streak in NFL history when he scored in 15 straight games.
He also broke the franchise record of 14 held by 49ers all-time great receiver Jerry Rice.
The only player left with a longer streak is former Baltimore Colts running back Lenny Moore, who scored in 18 consecutive games from 1963-1965.

McCaffrey has jumped into some elite territory after being drafted by the Panthers eighth overall in the 2017 NFL Draft.
He was taken just two picks ahead of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
