The Astros are thought of as a high-scoring team, and though they’re averaging an MLB-high 5.72 runs on the road, they entered Saturday’s action averaging just 4.43 in their home games at Minute Maid Park, a notorious pitchers’ park (even after scoring 11 on Friday night).
Houston’s Dallas Keuchel and Chicago’s Lucas Giolito both are pitching better recently than they were earlier this season, and they should benefit from umpire Bill Miller. The Under is 10-7 (55.8 percent) this year in games with Miller behind the plate but an even more impressive 239-188-17 (56 percent) since 2005, as he is one of MLB’s most consistent Under umps.
The play: White Sox-Astros Under 8 1/2 runs.
