Dave Tuley, senior reporter at VSiN, joins the Post’s Bettor’s Guide for the 2018 NFL season. His handicapping pieces appear in VSiN’s online magazine, Point Spread Weekly.

Browns (+8¹/₂) over SAINTS: If the Browns could contain the Steelers’ offense and match them on the scoreboard (literally, in a 21-21 tie), they can do the same with the Saints, who were exposed in a 48-40 loss to the Buccaneers. The secondary couldn’t keep up with Tampa Bay’s receivers and now have to face Tyrod Taylor and the tandem of last year’s NFL leading receiver Jarvis Landry and the newly reinstated starter Josh Gordon. Bombs away!

Cardinals (+13) over RAMS: In the football handicapping world, we’re inundated with systems and trends, but one that stands the test of time is NFL double-digit underdogs. It came through again last week with the aforementioned Bucs closing +10 at the Saints. Parity still exists, and no team is as terrible as it looked the week before (Cardinals) nor any team as good (Rams, at least in the second half). Plug your nose and take the overinflated points with the big, ugly dog.
