Running the football has been a huge priority so far during the bowl season. It makes sense when you think about it. Most passing games in the present era are all about timing, and timing gets upset by long layoffs. As a result, coaches and coordinators are going to place a little more emphasis on the run.

There is one team with a huge edge on the ground in the Camellia Bowl, and it is the favorite. Georgia State rushed for 4.89 yards per carry during the regular season and allowed just
3.59 ypc.

Ball State, on the other hand, rushed for fewer than 4 yards per carry, with 3.97. The Cardinals prefer to throw the football, but that’s something that they haven’t done all that well this season. Ball State averages 6.1 yards per pass attempt, which ranks 116th in the nation.

The Cardinals have done a decent job stopping the run, allowing 4.18 yards per rush. But they allowed 4.91 yards per carry in four November games, so they’ve struggled as the season has gone along.

The play: Georgia State, -5.5.
