The top ground-ball starting pitcher in baseball is going against a starter who leads the National League in home runs allowed and opens up as a slight underdog.

The Cardinals’ Dakota Hudson is getting nearly 6.5 ground balls to every fly ball and has overcome dishing out a good amount of walks. He is giving out 4.1 walks per nine innings this season, but the team is 10-1 in his last 11 games as he has given up more than three earned runs in just one start this season.

Meanwhile, Chris Archer has not panned our for the Pirates the way they’d hoped. He is allowing 2.2 home runs per nine innings and has given up 22 so far this season. He has given up three earned runs or more in five out of his last seven starts and the team is 7-10 in his starts this season.

The Pirates back up Archer with a bullpen that ranks in the bottom 10 of the MLB in ERA, while that of the Cardinals is in the top five.
