If the Dolphins want to have any chance of finishing atop the AFC East for the first time since 2008, they will have to earn it over the next five weeks. Miami will face three division foes over its final four games, but the prelude to that gauntlet has the potential to be just as dangerous as the main event.
Of course, that prelude is the Dolphins’ primetime meeting with Los Angeles, which, despite losing three of its last four games, could be gearing up for a strong finish. After injuries hampered the Chargers’ offense all season, Keenan Allen is back, Mike Williams’ return is on the horizon and Los Angeles is eager to give Miami a run for its money to keep its playoff hopes alive as it enters the home stretch.
Over 51.5 total points
With the amount of offensive firepower in this game, banking on the under just wouldn’t be right.
Both teams have seen their fair share of the over as of late, as it’s hit in four of the Dolphins’ last five games and in six of Los Angeles’ last 10.
Don’t expect either team to put together long, tedious drives that chew clock. The Chargers rank second in the league with 42.7 pass attempts per game, while Miami sits in 10th with 35.8. Both offenses are going to try to move downfield quickly, and a shootout is more than likely.
Last time Herbert and Tagovailoa met, there was no Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle or Austin Ekeler, and the Dolphins and Chargers still combined for 50 points. Throwing those players into the mix should allow the over to cash with ease.
Pick: Over 51.5 total points @ -110 with Caesars Sportsbook
Justin Herbert Getty ImagesFour or more first half touchdowns +170
Two of the highest-scoring first-half teams to put up at least four touchdowns at plus odds? We’ll take it.
The Chargers average 14.9 points per game through the first 30 minutes of action, while the Dolphins trail close behind at 14.8.
While combining for at least four end zone trips before the intermission is no easy task, these two teams certainly have the weapons to do so. This pick also pairs beautifully with the over, making it that much sweeter.
Pick: Four or more touchdowns in first half @ +170 with Caesars Sportsbook

Waddle over 82.5 receiving yards
Revenge game incoming.
Waddle was held to just one reception for 9 yards last Sunday against the 49ers, but had racked up at least 85 yards in five of six games prior to that contest.
With Pro Bowl corner J.C. Jackson on injured reserve and Asante Samuel Jr. likely to be matched up with Hill for the majority of the game, that should open the door for Waddle to dominate his pairing with a banged-up Bryce Callahan or Michael Davis, who both had injury designations earlier in the week.
Considering Waddle has gotten at least five targets in each of the last seven weeks, there’s no doubt Tagovailoa will be looking his way, too, making this receiving prop a must-bet.
Pick: Jaylen Waddle to have over 82.5 receiving yards @ -119 with Caesars Sportsbook
