The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to make the World Series after being down three games to one to the Atlanta Braves in the National League Championship Series for a second straight season.

The Dodgers, who were 13-2 in games in which Max Scherzer has pitched since he joined them at the trade deadline, will not have their ace for Game 6. According to an industry source, Scherzer said his arm was dead, so the Dodgers may be faced with a bullpen game.

But the Braves still will have Ian Anderson, who has allowed two runs or fewer in six of his eight starts since coming off the injured list in August. He is backed up by a bullpen that ranks fourth in ERA since the All-Star break.

If it is a bullpen game, the Dodgers ranked second overall in relievers’ ERA, and their 3.03 road ERA was the best in MLB. They face a Braves team that led the NL in home runs per game, but actually hit more home runs on the road than in Atlanta.

The Dodgers are missing Max Muncy and Justin Turner, while both teams have their bullpens on full rest after the off-day on Friday, so the pitchers will be dominant and keep runs at a premium.

The play: Braves-Dodgers total, Under 7.5 runs.
