In the first meeting, the Rangers prevailed, 5-3, in Newark with a strong effort from Jonny Brodzinski, Gabe Perreault and several other forwards in the mix to form the Rangers’ bottom six.

The Devils have reduced their preseason roster to 45 players, while the Rangers have are down to 27.

New Jersey is 2-2-1, and the Rangers are 2-1-1 in preseason action.
