Among power conferences, the ACC schools have the worst cover rate at home this season with an 80-98 mark. Just three teams are above .500 against the spread at home.

Georgia Tech is not one of those high-cover-rate teams. The Yellow Jackets on Tuesday night will play host to a Virginia Tech team that ranks third in the country in fewest turnovers per game.

The Hokies are led by Landers Nolley II’s 17.5 points per game, but have had their struggles on offense recently, exceeding 72 points in regulation once since the turn of the new year. But prior to Saturday’s 74-63 loss to Florida State, they had allowed 71 points or fewer in every game that ended in regulation in the calendar year 2020.

The Yellow Jackets offense also is currently hobbled, as the team’s top scorer, Michael DeVoe (16.2 ppg), did not play in an 80-72 loss Saturday at Notre Dame due to a foot injury.

Georgia Tech ranks 334th in the country in 3-point shooting percentage, and that’s including DeVoe’s 40.7 percent on 3s. If he is sidelined again or not at 100 percent, it puts the Yellow Jackets in a tough position to win outright, let alone cover.

The play: Virginia Tech, +1¹/₂.
