Our NFL betting writer brings you his best betting predictions and picks for Sunday’s game between the Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants, scheduled to air at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX.

It’s the only Week 8 game between winning teams with the NFC West-leading Seahawks (4-3) among early surprises. Throw the Giants (6-1) into the same category with a stingy defense, strong running game and the trend of Daniel Jones orchestrating game-winning drives adding up to a second-place seat in the NFC East.

Giants vs Seahawks predictions

Here come the Giants on a cross-country flight after another nail-biting victory — New York is the third team in league history (2000 Minnesota Vikings, 1998 New Orleans Saints) with six wins, all with final score margin of eight or fewer points, in the first seven games of a season. So how thin is the margin for error?

Betting on the NFL?

Seattle has four wins despite multiple injuries and the headlining quarterback change to Geno Smith. How, you ask? Smith is third in the NFL in passer rating, leads the NFL in completion percentage (73.5) and rookie running back Kenneth Walker leads the league in rushing since he took over as the starter in Week 5.

Tyler Lockett over 5.5 receptions

Smith hit Tyler Lockett seven times last week and with behemoth wideout DK Metcalf carted off last week with a knee injury, Lockett is firmly No. 1 in the pecking order and progression list for Smith. Marquise Goodwin caught two TD passes last week but the chain-mover is ol’ reliable, Lockett.

He has five-plus catches in five of his past six games and a rapport with Smith, who isn’t afraid to hang in the pocket to get the ball out in time. Head coach Pete Carroll said the Seahawks are wary of Giants defensive lineman Leonard Williams, who had 2.5 sacks in the last meeting with Seattle.

Pick: Tyler Lockett over 5.5 catches @ -110 with Caesars Sportsbook

Giants score between 21-30 points

The Giants don’t want to get comfortable kicking field goals, but Seattle’s defense is notoriously bend-don’t-break between the 20s. They’re giving up 26.6 points per game and won’t respect New York’s unproven skill position players outside of known workhorse Saquon Barkley who leads the NFL in yards from scrimmage (906).

The Seahawks’ aim to make Jones, who rushed for 100 yards last week, and anyone but Barkley win the game on Sunday. But New York is here based on its commitment to the ground game, which is growing accomplished after yet another 200-plus yard game against Jacksonville last week. The difference between 21 and 30 points on Sunday is whether Jones can find others to make plays in the red zone.

Pick: Giants to score between 21-30 points @ +140 via Caesars Sportsbook

Wan’Dale Robinson to have a reception over 21.5 yards

Rookie wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson led the Giants with six receptions for 50 yards last week and is more explosive in short areas than he is straight-line fast. His biggest gain this season as a receiver is 17 yards.

He has only 13 targets this season, but 12 of them came in the past two games. If you haven’t seen Brian Daboll’s creative play design in action, he will assuredly bring something to the table for Robinson in a game where the opponent has missile lock on No. 26.

Seattle’s pass defense has five interceptions and 17 sacks, but also given up 11 TD passes and 11.9 yards per reception.

Pick: Wan’Dale Robinson long reception over 21.5 yards @ +110 with Caesars Sportsbook
