There are some games in which the result is not indicative of what took place. The Denver Nuggets had a terrible shooting performance on Wednesday night, making 20 percent on 3-pointers, 34 percent from the field and 61 percent from the free-throw line.

In fact, the Nuggets shot 3-of-17 on uncontested 3-point attempts. That is a team that beat itself, as opposed to being schematically contained.

Denver still has the edge in the frontcourt with Paul Millsap and Nikola Jokic, and if Portland would continue to double Jokic, the Nuggets’ shooters will not fall flat like they did in Game 2. Denver also will have a full game of Torrey Craig, who was lost for a majority of the game to a broken nose.

While Portland has the advantage going back to the Pacific Northwest, Denver is still the better team. The Nuggets should steal back home court on Friday night.

The play: Nuggets, +160.
