Bill Belichick’s future in the NFL is now firmly up in the air as the Atlanta Falcons decided to move away from the legendary coach and bring in Raheem Morris.

Oddsmakers at DraftKings Sportsbook now project Belichick will not find a new team for 2024, now pricing him at -2000 to not coach next season (95.24 percent implied).

This price represents an uptick in bets on Belichick sitting out the upcoming season, which reopened at -1600 after the announcement that Morris would be the Falcons’ coach.

It appears the Falcons’ front office won out on the decision to stay away from the six-time Super Bowl champion head coach, as podcaster Bill Simmons hinted that owner Arthur Blank wanted Belichick but other members of that executive team were steering the ship elsewhere.

And now the legendary coach, 71, goes into a dangerous game of limbo with only two jobs still open.

Further down the oddsboard, bettors are still holding onto hope that Belichick could land in Washington (+800), despite multiple reports stating that Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is the front-runner.

Johnson is first finishing the season with the Lions, who play the 49ers in Sunday’s NFC Championship game.

The “any other team” section would include a potential job opening in Buffalo as the Bills had a disappointing end to the season under Sean McDermott and could consider a change.

The Seahawks, who have yet to hire a coach since moving from Pete Carroll, also fall into that group but have not been linked to Belichick.

Of note, the Giants and Jets are only still listed because they were listed initially at the start of the offseason.

Neither team is expected to make any changes at the head coaching spot, but oddsmakers must continue to list them on the extremely unlikely scenario that the coaches move on from the Big Apple.
