The No. 23-ranked Oregon Ducks face the Indiana Hoosiers in a tough matchup in the second round of Big Ten Tournament.

Oregon walks into Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis as 1.5-point favorites, but don’t discount the Hoosiers.

The ninth-seeded Hoosiers have won four of their last five games, including a six-point victory over Ohio State on Saturday.

Their lone loss, though, was a nine-point loss to this very same Oregon team on March 4.

So, perhaps there’s reason for some optimism that the favorites will prevail after having a first-round bye.

KenPom has these two teams ranked neck and neck, with eighth-seeded Oregon ranked No. 31 and Indiana ranked No. 44.

The last time these two teams matched up, Oregon was a 6.5-point favorite and the Ducks covered the spread with a nine-point win.

There’s not a whole lot of reason for further optimism here, as Oregon isn’t missing any major starters entering Thursday.

In fact, I expect the Ducks to cover the spread Thursday afternoon thanks to quality, well-balanced attack on offense and solid defense that’s rated No. 37 in the country.

Oregon is just 14-16-1 against the spread despite 22 wins this season, and I think we’re looking at an overcorrection in this matchup.
