If the NFL sincerely cares about the fans, and now that the league is recognizing the existence of Las Vegas and those who bet on the games across the nation, why not schedule two games each Monday night? There would be unanimous approval.
No complaints.
Last season ended with plenty of complaints out of New Orleans. The Saints’ past two seasons are remembered for playoff runs that ended in agony. But the Saints have been slow starters, too, dropping five straight season openers, including a 48-40 loss to Tampa Bay as 10-point home favorites last year.
Drew Brees was nearly the MVP in 2018, when he completed 74.4 percent of his passes with 32 touchdowns. This matchup will not be easy for Brees against a J.J. Watt-led Houston defense that ranked fourth in the league in scoring (19.8 points per game). Deshaun Watson was sacked 62 times last season — more than any other quarterback in the league — so the Texans recently traded with Miami for stud left tackle Laremy Tunsil. Watson is behind a stronger line and orchestrating an offense capable of trading shots with Brees in the Superdome.
