A stormy weather forecast in Buffalo is plummeting Sunday’s Bills-Steelers total during Wild Card Weekend. 

The total dropped to 36 at Caesars Sportsbook on Tuesday evening from 43 earlier this week, a rare full-touchdown drop from opening. 

Various weather forecasts are calling for sustained winds between 20-30 mph with gusts ranging from 40-60 mph.

If some of the more blustery forecasts come to pass, you can write off a big game from either team’s passing game. 

And good luck kicking a long field goal. 

But high winds aren’t the only factor sure to stifle offenses Sunday. 

Temperatures are expected to be in the low 20s at game time, and “feels like” temp could drop below zero, according to Covers.com analyst Jason Logan. 

Meteorologists are also bracing for potential snow storms, creating a perfect recipe for a low-scoring affair. 

The total is easily the lowest of Wild Card weekend, with no other line at Caesars less than 43.5 points.

As bad as the weather may be, bettors are also likely fading an anemic Steelers offense. 

Pittsburgh has scored 30 or more points in two of its last three games, but a wider look shows a team that has struggled to score. 

The Steelers have scored 18 or fewer points in six of their last eight contests, and they’re 28th in scoring (17.9 points per game). 

As 10-point underdogs, the Steelers have an implied total of just 13 points, which would be among the lowest in the NFL and their lowest of the season, according to RotoCurve. 

The Bills, on the other hand, boast one of the best offenses in the NFL. 

Buffalo scored 26.5 points per game (sixth-best in the NFL) with the third-best offensive DVOA during the regular season. 

But as NFL history has shown time and time again, even the best offenses can’t overcome windy conditions and snowy weather.
