The unbeaten Philadelphia Eagles face the 1-5-1 Houston Texans on “Thursday Night Football” with the Eagles laying two touchdowns on the road. This game isn’t great from a betting perspective. Philadelphia is obviously the more talented team. However, laying 14 points on the road in the NFL is never easy.
I’m going to avoid the side and total and instead eye a player prop. I like Jalen Hurts over 41.5 at -114 (FanDuel) rushing yards. The Texans rank last in the NFL in rush defense, allowing a ridiculous 186 yards per game, and now face the sixth best rushing offense in the NFL.

Houston has gotten gashed on the ground but most of the damage has been done by running backs. The Texans give up 159.3 yards per game to running backs, by far the worst in the NFL. Quarterbacks have far less success against Houston’s defense, rushing for just 14 yards per game.

However, that stat is misleading. The Texans have only faced one quarterback like Hurts, who can be used as an extra running back. That quarterback was Justin Fields and he posted 47 yards rushing.
This is an awful matchup for Houston’s undermanned defense. Hurts averages 43.2 rushing yards per game and has gone over this total three times this season. The Eagles should eclipse 200 yards on the ground and I’m betting at least 42 of those yards come from Hurts.
Texans vs. Eagles player prop pick
Jalen Hurts over 41.5 rushing yards @ -114 (FanDuel)
