METAL heads united to make Metallica’s new “St. Anger,” No. 1 this week. The disc, the rocker’s first album in six years, sold 418,000 copies, according to SoundScan.
Jewel took second place. Her “0304,” boosted by her made-for-MTV single, “Intuition,” sold 143,500 copies its first week out.
Train’s “My Private Nation” (No. 6) and Lonestar’s “Greatest Hits,” were the only albums to debut in the top 10.
Never far from the apex, Queens native 50 Cent took the No. 3 spot.
