VETERAN actress Susan Blakely is joining the cast of NBC’s “Southland.”

Blakely, 56, will play the mother of rookie cop Ben Sherman (Ben McKenzie) on the Thursday-night police drama, which bowed earlier this month and is expected to be renewed for next season.

Blakely has guest-starred recently on “Nip/Tuck,” “Worst Week” and “Two and a Half Men.”
