Dinner Party Cheat Sheet has vowed never to gamble again after putting money down on William Bennett to win the Kentucky Derby.

GOOD WILL

Moral maven William Bennett said he’s done seeking spinning 7s, after it was reported he lost millions of dollars at casinos over the past 10 years while playing mostly the slot machines. “I’ve gambled all my life and it’s never been a moral issue with me,” Bennett, former drug czar and author of “The Book of Virtues” recently told the public, before his hypocrisy level reached critical mass and he blew up.

BLOOM IS OFF

Mayor Bloomberg saw his job approval rating fall this week to a stinging low of 32 percent, according to one poll. Adding to the insult, 60% thought the mayor doesn’t care “about the needs and problems of people like [them].” Mayor Bloomberg brushed it off, saying voters should just hop on their private jets, down a few bottles of Veuve Cliquot and chill out.

BLAME CANADA!

U.S. officials are urging Canada to change its mind about a proposal there that would decriminalize marijuana possession for people who get caught carrying small amounts of the wicked weed, said USA Today. In preparation for the pot-ential crisis, American policy makers are already making plans for Operation Canadian Freedom.

SHRINK WRAP

NBC’s hit sitcom “Frasier” will be no more after next year. The Emmy award-winning show about a neurotic, polysyllabic psychiatrist and his dysfunctional family will run until Kelsey Grammer loses all of his hair, meaning the end of the 2004 season. Grammer says he’s planning on celebrating the final episode the usual way: getting loaded and driving into an embankment.

DOLLARS AND CENSORS

Wal-Mart will no longer be selling two saucy lad-mags, Maxim and Stuff, at their stores. Said a company spokesman: “… We have had customers around the country that have consistently been telling us they’re uncomfortable with us carrying these magazines.” There’s still no telling if Wal-Mart intends to strip their shelves of William Bennett’s latest book, “How to Win Big at the Slots.”
