A porn star’s midlife crisis makes for a limp story in “Elektra Luxx.”

Carla Gugino plays the aging ac tress whose discovery that she is pregnant leads to a series of ram bling soul-searching conversations, including one with the Virgin Mary (an unbilled Julianne Moore). Meanwhile, this would-be zany comedy-drama jumbles together a pile of messy plotlines involving a porn blogger (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a private detective (Timothy Olyphant) and a dumb-bunny younger porn star (Adrianne Palicki) who has a crush on her best friend (Emmanuelle Chriqui).

The movie, a sequel to 2009’s much more sprightly and amusing indie “Women in Trouble,” seems to be reaching for Robert Altman territory. Instead of offering many intriguing stories, though, it can’t come up with even one.
