The Yanks lost last night–but Fox still won big with its baseball coverage.

Game 1 of the World Series snared 19.5 million viewers, up 34 percent from last year’s Game 1 (Phils-Rays).

It was also the most-watched Game 1 since the Red Sox-Cards in October 2004.

The Phils 6-1 victory in The Bronx was also the highest-rated World Series game since Game 4 in 2007–beating all of last year’s games, according to Nielsen.
