Arianna Afsar is going from “American Idol” hopeful to Miss America contestant.

Before being crowned Miss California last weekend, the 18-year-old UCLA freshman was one of the Top 36 “Idol” semi-finalists in the 2009 season — alongside Adam Lambert and Kris Allen.

When Afsar auditioned for “Idol,” she was 16.

The aspiring actress and performer, who Paula Abdul called “stunning,” made it through to the Hollywood round, but was eliminated from “Idol” when her performance of ABBA’s “The Winner Takes It All” failed to draw enough viewer votes to move on to the next round.

The singer-turned-beauty queen will get another chance to strut her stuff on live TV when she competes in the 90th Miss America pageant in January.
