TERRI Irwin, the widow of “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, says the couple’s daughter, Bindi, has seen a psychologist – because she’s been “so happy” since her dad’s death.

“I met a psychologist and that’s been a tremendous help. I asked him if everything was OK, because Bindi’s been so happy,” Irwin says in the December issue of The Australian Women’s Weekly, featuring Bindi on the cover.

“[The psychologist] said, ‘Why? Are you worried? That’s what you’re shooting for. That’s what you want – a well-adjusted child who can handle a tragedy and see that life goes on.’ ”

Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, 44, was killed last Sept. 4 when he was stung in the heart by a stingray.

In addition to Terri and 8-year-old Bindi, Irwin left behind son Bob, 2.

It was announced last month that “Bindi, the Jungle Girl,” a show Bindi was filming for Discovery Kids, would be delayed a year.

Terri also talks about how Steve Irwin’s death continues to affect the family.

“Outside our house, there is a little concrete patch that Steve put there when Bindi was eight months old,” she says. “He pressed Bindi’s handprints and footprints into the concrete . . . and then my hands on his.

“Now, when I come home, I often put my hands in his, which is nice because it helps me feel close to him,” she says. “He left his hands here for me.”
