LOS ANGELES — “Glee” star Jane Lynch will host the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards, FOX Broadcasting announced Thursday.

“I am tickled pink to be hosting the Primetime Emmys,” Lynch said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to singing, dancing and sporting my finest tracksuit.”

Lynch, 50, plays the vitriolic cheerleading coach, Sue Sylvester, on the hit FOX show — a role that has garnered rave reviews and earned her an Emmy Award last year.

She will emcee the September 18 award ceremony that will air on FOX, the same network that broadcasts “Glee.”

“When our host has comedic, dramatic and musical talents … we know it’s going to be fun for us and for the audience at home,” John Shaffner, Chairman and CEO of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, that sponsors the awards, added in the statement.

“Late Night” comedian Jimmy Fallon hosted the ceremony last year.

FOX is owned by News Corp., the parent company of NewsCore.
