KATHY FINDS HER PRINCE
ROYAL TV producer Prince Edward is making a two-hour drama starring Kathy Ireland for the family-friendly network, Pax TV.
Prince Edward – who has adopted the professional name Edward Windsor – will serve as executive producer. The project marks Pax’s first original TV movie.
Windsor’s company, Ardent Prods., has been slowly moving into U.S. production.
Last August, he signed a development deal with NBC for a TV biography of his 99-year-old grandmother, the Queen Mother.
NBC later decided to drop the project. No reason was given.
Ardent has also had projects in development at CBS, E! and Showtime.
Windsor is also close to deals on three other TV movies for U.S. networks, according to the trade paper Varietey.
In the Pax movie, Ireland will play the youngest daughter of Santa Claus who falls in love with a mortal man. John Dye (“Touched by an Angel”) is set to star opposite her. Mary Donnelly Haskell will play another daughter of Santa Claus.
The untitled picture is set to start filming in mid-June in Vancouver, with Pax expected to air the movie in November or December.
Model-turned-actress Ireland has a slew of TV credits behind her, including a recurring role in NBC’s “Suddenly Susan,” as well as appearances on “Cosby,” “The Larry Sanders Show,” “Boy Meets World” and “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.”
