David Nelson, the last member of the iconic family portrayed in the TV sitcom “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet,” died at the age of 74, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.
Nelson died Tuesday at his Century City, Calif. home from complications from colon cancer. He is survived by his second wife, Yvonne, four sons, one daughter and seven grandchildren.
Nelson appeared on the classic TV show, alongside his parents and brother Rick, that portrayed the idealized American family. It aired on ABC from 1952 to 1966, making it the longest-running family comedy in TV history.
Nelson’s father Ozzie died in 1975 and the family matriarch, Harriet, died in 1994. His younger brother, Rick, was killed in a plane crash on New Year’s Eve in 1985.
