Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater will star opposite Alan Rickman this fall in the world premiere of Theresa Rebeck’s new play.
Producers said Monday that Rabe, last on Broadway in “The Merchant of Venice,” and Linklater, best known for “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” will star in Rebeck’s “Seminar.”
The production will begin previews on Oct. 27 and officially open on Nov. 20 at The Golden Theatre.
Rickman will portray a literary legend who teaches a private seminar for four young awe-struck writers, including characters played by Rabe and Linklater. Rickman also plays professor Severus Snape in the “Harry Potter” franchise.
The play will be directed by Sam Gold.
Rebeck’s other plays include “Mauritius” and “The Understudy.”
