THE fiery blend of bebop jazz and Latin jazz are in full effect on “Simpático,” a new CD from the Brian Lynch/Eddie Palmieri Project. The CD is the crowning achievement for Wisconsin jazz trumpeter Lynch’s 20-year collaboration with the Latin music piano great Palmieri.

Besides Palmieri, other guests on the star-powered disc include alto saxman Phil Woods and singer Lila Downs, as well as musicians with whom Lynch worked in Palmieri’s Afro-Caribbean Jazz All-Stars and others.

Lynch (pictured with trumpet) and Palmieri (far right) will perform with a six-piece band at the Iridium (8:30 and 10:30 p.m.; 1650 Broadway at 51st Street; [212] 582-2121; iridiumjazzclub.com) on Thursday.
