ROB Reiner is set to star in his first series since his days as Mike “Meathead” Stivic on “All in the Family.”

Reiner has cast himself and Mercedes Ruehl as parents dealing with their son and his wife – all four of whom are psychiatrists – in the NBC pilot “Everyday Life,” which Reiner is also executive-producing, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The sitcom is expected to be largely improvised and represents Reiner’s first regular TV acting gig since playing Mike on “All in the Family” for seven years – a role for which he copped two Emmys as bigoted Archie’s sensitive son-in-law.
