FOR someone born 250 years ago, Mozart’s still a pretty lively guy – judging by all the work he inspires.

A new Mark Morris ballet, a musical/digital art installation and quirky director Peter Sellars’ restaging of Mozart’s (unfinished) opera “Zaide” are among the highlights of the Mostly Mozart Festival’s 40th season, announced yesterday.

Louis Langree, who gave the Lincoln Center series a much-needed shot in the arm when he took the reins four seasons ago, will preside over many of the 35 events scheduled this summer.

Among the other highlights: chamber music featuring violinist Joshua Bell; performances by the period-instrument ensembles Concerto Koln and Zefiro; violinist Gidon Kremer and his Kremerata Baltica playing Mozart’s complete violin concertos; and the third year of the intimate, late-night (10:30 p.m. kickoff) series “A Little Night Music.”
