If Oprah’s contro versial show with chimp-maul victim Charla Nash was supposed to be a ratings blockbuster, it didn’t work.

Preliminary ratings for Wednesday’s “Oprah” averaged only about 6 percent over the day before — and were lower than what she got on Monday when Ellen DeGeneres and Portia DeRossi were on talking about their recent marriage.

But in New York, interest in the case pushed the ratings way up for Ch. 7 –25 percent over its season average.
