‘THE Apprentice” is staging a nationwide “recruitment tour” for contestants for the show’s second season – with the chance the auditions will end up on the air a la “American Idol.”

“The Apprentice” tour’s first stop is next Thursday (March 18) at the Trump Building on Wall Street.

Donald Trump and his associates featured on the show – George Ross and Carolyn Kepcher – will personally interview prospective candidates for the second season, which kicks off this fall.

The recruitment tour then visits nine other cities, including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Miami and San Francisco.

NBC will send a crew to next Thursday’s audition to tape Trump with the “Apprentice” wannabes down on Wall Street.

Although “nothing specific” is planned for next season, a show spokesman said there “might be a couple of shots” of Trump with the potential recruits in next season’s opening episode.

The auditions will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Trump’s offices on 40 Wall St.
