Models have been a staple of “Project Runway” for years now. With infinite grace, they tolerate the designers whose haphazardly constructed clothes come close to falling off as they strut down the runway.

Well, Bravo is now doing for models what it has done for aspiring Catherine Malandrinos and Zac Posens. It has launched “Make Me A Supermodel,” the first show of its kind to put women and men to the test for a chance at a career in the ever skittish fashion industry. It premieres on Thursday night. Hosted by Tyson Beckford and Niki Taylor, the show gathers 24 contestants from all over the country and, much like “Runway,” houses them in a Manhattan living space and puts them through their paces. The winner receives a prize of $100,000.

Among the finalists, Igor has one of the most interesting life stories. Born in Bosnia, he is an aspiring lawyer whose father was shot seven times in the war. During that time, Igor lived with his grandparents in Serbia. – Robert Rorke
