Rachael Ray did not cancel her subscription to the New York Times yet, says her publicist — but she is probably thinking about it.

The TV chef’s food fight with the Times — over its claim that Ray uses a ghostwriter for her cookbooks — yesterday spilled on to Twitter.

“Disappointing response when a correction was in order,” Ray tweeted after reading the clarification the Times posted on its Web site this week.

The feud began last Thursday with a controversial Times article accusing a number of celebrity chefs — including Mario Batali, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jamie Oliver and Ray — of using ghostwriters.

The clarification, posted on the paper’s food blog, said “the article dealt with a wide range of assistance” the chefs get, including organizing notes and measuring ingredients.

At the end, the blogger added: “As it happens, in their correspondence with the Times, Ms. Ray, Mr. Batali and a publicist for Mr. Oliver all said that some other chefs should have been included in the article — but not them.”

Unhappy Ray tweeted back: “I never offered @nytimes names of ‘other chefs’ who should have been included in the original piece.”

And “I also write my recipes alone.”
