Dr. Ben Carson (pictured), the Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon who has become the overnight darling of conservatives, is angling for his own TV show , it turns out — not a shot at the White House.

In an interview in the Washington Post yesterday, the 61-year-old doctor went public with his hope for a TV career after he retires later this year.

The chances of him running for president are “incredibly small.”

“Maybe if you write about [a TV show] in your article, somebody will say, ‘Let’s do it,’ ” Carson told a Post reporter.

Carson made a spectacular political debut last February with a speech that called for a health savings plan, a flat income tax and an end to political correctness.
