Series sink
Game 1 of the World Series was down nearly 25 percent in viewership from last year’s opener between the Yanks and Phillies.
Wednesday’s Giants-Rangers matchup, an 11-7 San Francisco victory, averaged 15 million viewers, compared to last year’s Game 1 (19.5 million viewers).
But it was solid enough to lead Fox to a prime-time victory, and to finish as the fifth-highest-rated show of the week thus far.
It was also up 3 percent in viewers compared to the last non-Yankees World Series Game 1 (Phils-Rays in 2008).
