BEFORE Carrie Bradshaw spent a fortune on shoes and Katie Couric compulsively sported Manolo Blahniks, there was Imelda Marcos, shoe queen of the Phillipines. The former first lady made headlines with behavior, but Ferdinand Marcos’ widow did more than shop: she managed to court, coddle and abuse power for four decades. In the PBS special, “Imelda,” producers combine news clips, home movies and interviews with Marcos as well as Imelda’s friends and enemies to create a chilling, yet well-heeled portrait.

ROB and Amber changed the face of the “Amazing Race,” manipulating the game in new ways as they did on that other CBS reality show, “Survivor.” And what a “Race” this was: remember when the contestants had to eat four pounds of meat? This outing was also notable because one of the series’ oldest couples, Meredith and Gretchen, made it to the final four. The race has taken the contestants as far away as India and Istanbul, but the finale will be a foot race to the finish – back home in the United States.

A mysterious man (Joel Grey) who has been impersonating Sloane (Ron Rifkin) resurfaces, and this time he’s hot on the trail of Rambaldi. Meanwhile, shocking revelations about the real Sloane are revealed, causing everyone to question his true intentions. Amy Irving guest stars as Emily Sloane and series star Jennifer Garner directs. Move over, Hitchcock.

AD exec Samantha Hoyt (Shannon Elizabeth) goes into full wedding planning frenzy after her beau, Ben Rosen (Eddie McClintock), proposes in “Confessions of an American Bride.” She wants everything to be perfect – who doesn’t?- but soon must discover that her dreams are just that – fantasies. The parents, on both sides of the marital equation, are a challenge; the interfaith issues are irritating and then there’s a snake in the grass – Samantha’s ex (Geoff Stubs), who comes along with a sweet temptation. It will be a miracle if these two make it to the altar at all.

FEARLESS Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell) is about to close on the killer of her friend Lilly Kane (Amanda Seyfried), who was murdered nearly a year ago, on the season finale of “Veronica Mars.” According to the show’s website, viewers think the two most likely suspects are Jake and Celeste Kane, Lily’s parents. Whoever is revealed to be the killer, one thing is true: while solving the crime, Veronica will betray someone she cares deeply about.
