NBC’s coverage of the London Summer Olympics is helping “Today” reclaim its ratings mojo.

While official final numbers from last week won’t be out until Thursday, “Today” is expected to claim a healthy victory over “Good Morning America” in total viewers, based on Nielsen “fast nationals.”

On Friday, for example, “Today” averaged 6.5 million viewers — nearly 2.5 million more viewers than “GMA” and “Today’s” biggest single-day margin of victory over “GMA” since the Aug. 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Unofficially, “Today” averaged 6 million viewers last week, 1.6 million more viewers than “GMA.”

“Today” also reclaimed the “money” demo of adults 25-54, averaging 2.5 million viewers — 853,000 more viewers than “GMA,” based on fast nationals.
