No one literally gets shot with an arrow from a winged cherub in “Cupid,” but 25-year-old Lisa Shannon is on a serious quest to find love.
She’s the Detroit copywriter who was chosen personally by executive producer Simon Cowell to star in his new summer reality series.
Yes, it’s another show about a young woman’s search for a mate, but with a format all its own.
In “Cupid,” you’ll see Lisa and two friends traveling around the country auditioning eligible bachelors, who will have 30 seconds to impress her.
The final 10 will each get to go on a date with Lisa, after which viewers will vote on who will stay and who will go.
At the conclusion of the series, Lisa will hopefully marry the final bachelor and – here’s the twist – they’ll receive a $1 million dowry in a year, if they’re still together.
As for Simon, he’s just producing on this show, not acting as Cupid. The host is Brian McFayden.
