Mitch Winehouse plans to write a memoir about his famous daughter Amy and her untimely death, his publisher announced Monday.

The book, “Amy: My Daughter,” will be released in summer 2012 by It Books, an imprint of HarperCollins. The proceeds from the book will benefit the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

The Grammy-winning singer, who had a long and well-publicized battle with substance abuse, was found dead at her North London home July 23. She was 27.

“I feel that I need to write this book to tell the true story of Amy and to help with my personal recovery,” the grieving father said in a statement.

“I also want to raise as much money as possible for Amy’s foundation, so all proceeds from the book will go directly to help children who are disadvantaged through illness and substance addiction. I believe that, through Amy’s music, her foundation, and this book, her name will live forever,” he added.

HarperCollins is owned by News Corp., which also owns NewsCore.
