‘SO You Think You Can Dance” kicked off strongly Wednesday night.

The “American Idol“-style dancing reality show averaged 10.3 million viewers from 8 to 10 p.m., easily winning the night and leading Fox to a prime-time victory.

“Dance” picked up steam as it went along, opening with 8.2 million viewers and growing each half hour, culminating in nearly 12 million viewers (9:30-10 p.m.).

Lauren Sanchez hosts the show, which will feature contributions from “Idol” judge Paula Abdul.
