HERE’S the scoop on Joey Buttafuoco: He’s serving ice cream on the set of “Desperate Housewives.”
Buttafuoco – the notorious central figure in the saga of Long Island Lolita Amy Fisher, Buttafuoco’s teen-aged lover who shot his now ex-wife Mary Jo in the head – has found a new career in on-set catering in Hollywood.
This week’s issue of Inside TV magazine, due on newsstands today, reports that Buttafuoco, 49, is operating a Mister Freeze concession that provides protein shakes and ice cream to the cast and crew of ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” and NBC’s “Crossing Jordan.”
The service, for which Buttafuoco charges $250 an hour, is the latest business venture for the entrepreneurial former auto body shop owner from Massapequa who moved to California some years back seeking a career in show business.
Instead of an acting career, though, Buttafuoco was derailed by several high-profile run-ins with law enforcement, including an arrest for soliciting a prostitute who was actually an undercover cop and defrauding an insurance company, for which he served a year in jail.
Inside TV says Buttafuoco, who was divorced from Mary Jo, was recently remarried.
