CH. 11 has apologized to a Korean couple over a report it aired last year about the alleged human consumption of dog meat in the metropolitan area.

In return, Ju Ho Kim and his wife, Roslyn Kim, have dropped their lawsuit against Ch. 11 and reporter Polly Kreisman.

In her reports, Kreisman showed the Kims selling frozen meat to an investigator employed by the Humane Society. Kreisman’s report seemed to indicate that the meat was frozen dog meat, which is considered a delicacy by some Koreans.

The Kims claim the meat they sold was wild coyote, which is legal.

Ch. 11 filed a motion to have the case dismissed, saying they did not intend to imply that the Kims had sold the carcass of a domestic dog to the investigator (the case has not yet been ruled on).

“WB11 and Ms. Kreisman have assured the Kims that it was not their intention to accuse them of selling domesticated dogs for food,” the Kims, Kreisman and Ch. 11 said in a joint statement.
