The annual Open House New York opens up more than 350 private and public sites this weekend with free talks and tours. Many require reservations and are “sold” out, but there are still plenty of really cool New York secrets to be had.

Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant

You know those stainless steel onion-shaped tanks you pass on your way to the LIE? Here’s a rare chance to get a panoramic view of the city from the top of them. 329 Greenpoint Ave., Brooklyn.

Red Hook Carriage House + Architecture Office

This 1899 building has been rehabbed into a three-story atrium, courtyard, roof deck and garden. The architects and owner will be on-site. 17 Dikeman St., Red Hook, Brooklyn.

Ellis Island’s South Side and Ferry Building

Sure you’ve been to Ellis Island, but this is a one-time opportunity to see two of its 30 or so private buildings, including a hard-hat tour of the abandoned hospital.

Tenrikyo Mission New York Center

Modern worship center for 1838-founded Japanese religion. 42-19 147th St., Flushing.

Betances Community Center

The architects will give tours of the classroom, game rooms and a three-story boxing gym. 465 St. Anns Ave., Mott Haven, The Bronx.

Alice Austen House Museum

View three centuries of architecture with a visit to a 17th-century farmhouse turned into a Gothic Victorian country cottage in the 19th century. 2 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island.

Grand Lodge of Masons

This 1912-built meeting place of the Freemasons has hosted some rock shows recently, but on this tour you’ll get the history and see the elaborate design up close. 71 W. 23rd St., Chelsea.

High Bridge Water Tower

If you’ve ridden around Manhattan on your bike, you would have cruised by the High Bridge, part of the Croton Aqueduct System from 1872. Now look inside and at the views from the top. Amsterdam Avenue at West 173rd Street, Washington Heights.
