Could “Dancing with the Stars” be waltzing from its top-rated position in prime time? Monday night’s premiere averaged 18.5 million viewers — low numbers for a “Dancing” season premiere.

“Dancing,” which was beaten in the coveted adults 18 to 49 demo by NBC’s “The Voice,” is trying to recover its ratings mojo after last season’s numbers were down.

That could be challenging, since this season’s “celebrities” aren’t exactly scintillating — with Gladys Knight as the best-known “Star.”
