LOS ANGELES — Donald Sutherland will play President Snow in upcoming “The Hunger Games” movie, Deadline reported Tuesday.

The Canadian actor, 75, will join a cast including Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson for the film adaptation of the young-adult science-fiction novel by author Suzanne Collins.

Lawrence, 20, will play the female heroine, Katniss Everdeen, with Hemsworth, 21, playing Gale Hawthorne and Hutcherson, 18, cast as Peeta Mellark.

Singer Lenny Kravitz, and actors Woody Harrelson and Stanley Tucci will also appear in the film due out in March 2012.
